Graduation ceremony at KIJAC

The second solemn graduation ceremony will be held at KIJAC Thursday 7th May 2009, from 11:00-13:00 hours.

11 students have successfully submitted their dissertations and have thus fulfilled their requirements for the Degree of Master of Arts in Journalism. We expect and sincerely hope that another maximal 20 students will do so before the next ceremony that is scheduled to take place in mid October 2009.

From the KIJAC Board of Governors the following members will be present:
- Dean Will Norton Jr., representing Nebraska University, Lincoln, College of Journalism & Mass Communications (through video conference)
- Dean Lars Dahle, representing Gimlekollen School of Journalism and Communication
- Willern Houwen, KIJAC Head of School
- Professor Howard Barrel, representing Cardiff University School of Journalism, Media and Cultural Studies;
- Kaare Melhus, representing Gimlekollen School of Journalism and Communication, Kristiansand, Norway

Two of them are official signatories to the MA degree diploma, as well as Dean Justin Lewis, Head of School of Cardiff University School of Journalism, Media & Cultural Studies (not present).

After the ceremony there will be drinks and food.



Timetable

10:00 KIJAC bus will depart from Prishtina behind the Palace of Youth in the car park
10:30 KIJAC bus will arrive
10:35 Guests should make their way inside KIJAC where they will be met by ushers that will supply ceremony information and KIJAC graduation badges
10:45 Guests and Students need to make their way up to the Auditorium
10:50 All guests and students must be seated.
10:55 Procession enters; all guests and students must stand as the procession enters.
11:00 Audience sit. Ceremony begins. Audience is welcomed by Moderators
11:05 Welcome Speech, Head of School Dr. Willem Houwen
11:10 Prof. Lars Dahle, President of Gimlekollen School of Journalism and Communication
11:20 Prof. Will Norton, Dean at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln
11:30 Prof. Howard Barrell, Cardiff University
11:40 Kaare Melhus, Project Manager for KIJAC, Board Governor and a representative of Gimlekollen School of Journalism and Communication
11:45 Dr. Obrad Savic, Leeds University
11:50 Xheraldina Rexhepi, Student Representative
11:55 Jelena Bjelica, Student
12:00 Students are called up alphabetically to receive their Degrees
12:30 Ceremony ends, reception begins.
