Admission

Students accepted for the MA programme in Journalism must hold a BA in any chosen field of study. The undergraduate degree does not have to include courses in journalism or mass communication.

Student qualities

A selection board made up of experienced journalists and educators will select the candidates based on the following criteria:
• Integrity
• Determination
• Self-discipline
• Maturity
• Work Experience
• Academic record
• English and Albanian or Serbian proficiency
• Interests and hobbies
• Understanding of journalism as a career
• Referees and the referees evaluation

In addition, the applicant must submit his/her academic credentials (at least a BA degree, or equivalent) a CV containing information on previous work experience, and a short essay (minimum 800 words) in English on the candidate’s evaluation of herself/himself and what motivates him/her to become a journalist.

Admission fee

KIJAC is a registered non-profit organization offering high quality academic programmes in journalism and communication. Students are however required to pay a fee of 1000 Euros per academic year.

Obligatory reading material

KIJAC students can borrow or buy the obligatory reading material (books, compendiums, etc.) from the KIJAC.
